Therapy for real humans.
Because being human is hard sometimes.
In-person psychotherapy and counselling support in Sydney Inner West and online sessions across Australia.
Individual 50-minute sessions $90/session
Welcome.
I’m Devan Lalas, a counsellor-in-training currently completing a Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling at Western Sydney University. Before stepping into this work, I spent nearly a decade in higher education supporting students through some of the most challenging and formative periods of their lives – academically, emotionally, and personally.
Again and again, I found myself drawn to the same space: sitting with someone one-on-one, helping them make sense of what they were feeling, what they had been through, and who they were becoming. That work is what led me here.
My approach is grounded in person-centred therapy, which means I don’t position myself as the expert on your life – you are. My role is to meet you with presence, honesty, and care, and to create a space where you can explore your experiences safely, at your own pace. I also draw from attachment-informed and relational approaches, particularly when working with patterns in relationships, identity, and self-worth.
Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from themselves, or caught in repeating relational patterns. Together, we work to understand what’s underneath those experiences – not to “fix” you, but to help you feel more grounded, more clear, and more like yourself.
As part of my training, I engage in regular clinical supervision and work within a clearly defined scope of practice. This means you are supported not only by me, but by a broader professional framework committed to safe and ethical care.
If you’re looking for a space that is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in genuine human connection, you’re welcome here.

Your first session is a gentle starting point. We’ll slow down, get to know what’s bringing you here, and explore what support might feel most helpful. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. You set the pace, and we follow what feels safe and right for you.

I work from a person-centered and experiential foundation, which means coaching is guided by you. My role is to offer warmth, attunement, curiosity, and a non-judgmental space where your own insight and direction can emerge. I draw on evidence-based tools when helpful, but our work always begins with who you are and what you need in the moment.
-
Not at all. Some people come with a specific concern, while others simply feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin. Together, we can uncover what you’re needing, explore themes that arise, and help you move toward clarity and steadiness.
-
I work with adults seeking support with anxiety, stress, low mood, burnout, relationship concerns, identity exploration (including LGBTQ+ support), life transitions, emotional regulation, self-esteem, grief, and general wellbeing. If something in your life feels heavy, confusing, or important, we can explore it together.
-
Sessions are 50 minutes. Many people start weekly or fortnightly, but frequency is flexible and based on your needs, capacity, and goals. We can revisit and adjust this anytime.
